Sage, Gruyere, & Prosciutto Twist

It’s important to have a go to appetizer recipe ready to go. It’s even better when it’s quick, easy, but still packed full of flavor. 

These Sage, Gruyere, & Prosciutto Twists are just that.  Use our Pineapple Honey Mustard as a dip to get an unexpected sweetness that pairs perfectly with the earthy flavor of the sage.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 2 teaspoons dried sage
  • 1.2 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 12  slices of prosciutto
  • Beano’s Pineapple Honey Mustard, for dipping

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F
  2. Roll out the puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface
  3. Brush the egg on the top of the puff pastry, covering the entire surface
  4. Sprinkle cheese, sage, and a bit of salt to evenly cover the puff pastry
  5. Using a rolling pin, press the cheese into the puff pastry
  6. Fold the puff pastry in half lengthwise
  7. Cut into 12 even strips
  8. Place a slice a prosciutto on a strip and twist, repeat with the remaining 11 strips
  9. Place strips on a baking tray, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with a bit more salt
  10. Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes
  11. Remove from oven, dip in our Pineapple Honey Mustard, and enjoy!
