Sausage Rolls

You’ll love the flavors of these homemade sausage rolls and let every bite take you on a culinary journey. Served with Beano’s Heavenly Horse Radish sauce these are perfect for parties, picnics, or just a quiet evening at home.

Ingredients:

  • Beano’s Heavenly Horse Radish (for dipping)
  • Olive Oil (2 tbsp)
  • 1/2 white onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 1 cup of panko bread cumbs
  • 16 oz package of Italian Sweet Sausage
  • 1 tbsp of parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 can of refried beans
  • Puff pastries (thawed)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a pan at medium heat, then add the finely chopped onion and shredded carrot. Cook and set aside.
  3. Cook 1 package of sausage and set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, add the cooked onion and carrot, 1 cup of bread crumbs, 1 tbsp of parsley, cooked sausage, and 1/2 a can of refried beans. Mix well.
  5. Take your thawed puff pastries and cut them in half. Along the edge of the pastry, add the sausage mixture.
  6. Brush egg wash on the other side of the pastry, then roll and close. Ensure the closed side is on the bottom.
  7. Cut the rolled pastry in half and then into thirds, creating six pieces.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  9. Serve with Beano’s Heavenly Horse Radish for dipping.
